You Have To Walk Your Talk

I have always believed that you need to live your truth, that you set the example and others learn by observation. I have tried to live my life in accordance with the classes that I teach. I always admired that about my Great-Grandmother. She lived her religion, she never preached it. Everyone wanted to have the same peaceful quality that she portrayed.

So, with that in mind, I am starting on my new eating lifestyle. I have been researching diet and autoimmune diseases for some time now. Once I was able to completely end my relationship with pharmaceutical drugs in the treatment of my Multiple Sclerosis, I made the firm decision to NEVER go back there again! It is very freeing to be able to go somewhere without worrying about keeping medication refrigerated and disposing of syringes. This is a freedom that I will not give up.

As I stated in my first paragraph, I believe that you need to live your truth and the things that you teach. I am now sharing my knowledge of autoimmune diseases and diet. Hmmm, maybe that means that I need to start following said lifestyle myself!

I began small, eating one apple a day (I really didn’t eat ANY fruit during the day) and that has become a habit. Now it’s time to play more full out! Last night I made my first gluten-free, sugar free, paleo adjusted meal. It was interesting and I learned a few things in the process! First, I do enjoy cooking and trying out new things. Second, when purchasing two different types of squash that are going to be cooked together on the same baking sheet, make sure that they are at least close to the same size! My spaghetti squash was about 2 1/2 times bigger than my delicata squash. They did not cook at the same pace! My delicata squash was soft and smooth, but my spaghetti squash was still a bit crunchy in places. It still tasted good though! I made Bacon Chicken Alfredo. I had crunchy noodles from the spaghetti squash and the delicata squash mixed with coconut milk made up the sauce. It had awesome flavor!

The Earth Diet BookTomorrow I begin The Earth Diet (TM) 3 day cleanse. I will continue taking my Life Long Vitality Pack and DDR Prime supplements from doTERRA, as they are a very important part of my healing process, but I am excited to begin this cleanse. I’ve never cleansed using only food before . I have all of my kale, spinach, parsley, cilantro, lemons, limes, beets, apples, oranges, grapefruit, cauliflower, and broccoli! I am ready to go! We will see how ready I am by tomorrow night! I know that it means no coffee for the next three days, but I am sure I will survive! I have been drinking less and less every day. As my body gets healthier, it doesn’t seem to desire coffee as much. I will keep you posted on how the cleanse goes! If I am going to be coaching people on living a healthier life, including their diet, then it’s time for me to live that same life. I will be able to have empathy for them, as in all things I teach and coach, I’ve been through it myself!

I think that life gives us the experiences that we need to help others. We pull from our own knowledge and our own truths and that is what makes those of us that coach others very good at what we do.
